About Pretty in Pink
Pretty in Pink was established in 2006 and quickly grew though word-of-mouth to a diverse group of more than 25 women, who have been directly or indirectly touched by cancer. This group works hard to make a difference through volunteerism and fundraising and to date, Pretty in Pink has raised more than $33,000 for the Foundation of CKHA.
Funds raised for the Foundation of CKHA have been directed to CKHA’s Oncology Department, helping the hospital purchase much-needed supplies, equipment and furniture for this department. In 2008, Pretty in Pink also generously donated $5,000 to the Foundation of CKHA’s Making the Right Investment – MRI Campaign, helping CKHA to bring this much-needed piece of equipment to Chatham-Kent.
In 2010, Pretty in Pink won the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Canada South Chapter’s AFP Spirit of Philanthropy (Group) Award for their efforts to raise funds for national, provincial and local oncology-based non-profit organizations and individuals touched by cancer within Chatham-Kent.

We’ll soon find out whether the city looks pretty in pink. Lawrence Memorial Hospital is once again asking for permission to tie pink ribbons around the lamp posts on Massachusetts Street from Sixth to 11th streets and on Clinton Parkway from Iowa to Kasold. The ribbons are meant to raise awareness of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month .
