Summer officially ends this weekend but autumn entertainment has already begun. A September film series at the St. Clair Capitol Theatre in Chatham, a complete concert series at the Mary Webb Centre in Highgate, comedy theatrical productions at the Acorn Theatre in Wallaceburg will start to fill cultural calendars across Chatham-Kent.

August 22nd to September 29th – Wallaceburg artist Mike Blazek photographic exhibition, “Swarm” at ARTspace, 165 ½ King Street West, Chatham. Open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12.00 noon to 5.00pm. Admission free. Further details at 519-352-1064

September 14th – opening reception at 7.00pm of Jose Seoane’s “Open Sesame” at Thames Art Gallery, 75 William Street, Chatham. Gallery open daily from 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Admission free. Exhibition runs until 21st October. Further details from www.chatham-kent.ca/tag or 519 360 1998.

September 14th – opening reception at 7.00pm of Winnipeg artist Jerry Bone at the Thames Art Gallery. The artist will be present to talk about his work. Exhibition continues to 21st October at 75 William Street, Chatham. Gallery open daily from 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Admission free. Exhibition runs until 21st October. September 16th – Grapejam at Smith & Wilson Estate Wine west of Cedar Springs off Talbot Trail – blues bands Blutonium, Spoonful, Robin Banks and headliner Wayne Baker Brooks out of Chicago. September 19th – Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould (2009) film at St. Clair College Capitol Theatre. A documentary on the influential Canadian pianist. 238 King Street West, Chatham at 7.00pm.
