Here’s an update from the Chatham-Kent Police stemming from our previous story from this morning:
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery last night.
At around 8:00 p.m. last night, a man attended a female friend’s apartment on Gillard Street in Wallaceburg. While there, a male guest assaulted, threatened and forced the victim to attend a local ATM to withdraw money. As the two were walking to the bank, the victim ran into the police station and the suspect fled.
Officers attended the residence on Gillard Street, located the suspect and took him into custody.
A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged with robbery, assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of disobeying a court order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
