A Wallaceburg company has landed a big contract from a Toronto-based organization.

E.R. Schepens Ltd. will be working with Xylem – a global provider of water handling and treatment integrated solutions for municipal and industrial customers in more than 140 countries.

Paul Francis, operations and service manager for Xylem in Toronto, says the company has a large international presence and needed to work with a compnay in Southwestern Ontario to service their products.

Francis said working with Schepens is a perfect fit.

“We evaluated Schepens and found they are a very professional operation,” he said. “They had the facilities to fabricate and also do control and electrical work. So they were basically a one-stop-shop, which is similar to our operation in Toronto.”

Gene Schepens, one of the local owners, says he’s excited for the partnership.

“They were sending crews down form Toronto to as far as Windsor and they found that not cost effective,” he said. “They were looking for someone in the area… and because of the advancements we’ve made in our motor shop, we called them up and are able to deal directly.”

Xylem designs and delivers energy-efficient solutions and related services for water and wastewater transport, biological treatment, filtration and disinfection. They employ nearly 5,000 world-wide.

Great to see Gene and his team at E.R. Schepens being being rewarded for their good work by being awarded this contract. A tip of the hat to their entire team!
