Here’s the latest information about the annual Art on the Boulevard event in Erieau for 2012.
It’s on Sat. August 4, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s the biggest event yet. We have more than 80 artists from across Ontario located along the centre of the Boulevard in Erieau selling their work. We have emphasized to artists that they must make their work with their own hands so it is an authentic artist event. This year we have many more artists from areas such as Windsor, St. Catherines, Hamilton, Toronto, Port Lambton, Stratford and beyond.
Many artists are returning that have been with us from the 1st show in 2010 such as potter- Jane VanGaalen, painters- Janet Forsyth and Elsie Thoonen, and photographers Val and Bob West. A wide variety of mediums are represented including jewellery, stained glass works, woodwork, sculpture, soaps and lotions, paintings, photography, glass works, knitting, writing/card making, hair accessories and sewing. We run the event rain or shine.
The home and cottage tour will run again from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with 7 unique homes and cottages on tour for a cost of $20 per ticket.
Tickets can be purchased in Blenheim at Lasting Memories, Dawson Flowers, and Antiquated Joys; in Chatham at Purple Pansy, Gentry Manor; Ridgetown at Mocha Violet and in Erieau at the Gift Cabin or limited tickets can be purchased at the start of the tour at the information booth which will be located at the Memorial Garden in the Erieau Boulevard.
We have continuted with our food options this year with many local organizations taking part in providing an assortment of lunch and dinner options at reasonable costs in addition to our fantastic restaurants in the village.
Musicians are once again performing in the Boulevard throughout the day.
The municipality is also running the free bus service with runs coming out to Erieau throughout the day at no cost.

Once again another excellent event. Nice crowds, great music, good food, refreshing breeze. I think this has the potential to be a major regional event year after year. The organizers did a great job.

I agree – with Art in the Park in Ridgetown the week before it shows what an amazing job dedicated volunteers can accomplish – and how much there is to do in Chatham-Kent, specially outside Chatham.
