Police have confirmed that what they believe to be human remains were discovered outside of a residence in Wallaceburg.
Sergeant Mike Domony with the Chatham-Kent Police says police are continuing to investigate the scene.
“We are having a forensic anthropologist take a look at them to see if we can age them and put a better timeline to it,” Domony told CKDP staff.
According to Domony, someone was working in the yard and discovered what they thought were human remains and notified police.
He says the investigation can now move into the next stage.
“Based on the age of the remains, that’s where we channel our investigation into either historical or something we have to look into that might be more current,” says Domony.
Police reportedly first attended to the scene yesterday at 3PM.
