Girl remains in critical condition

Just before 9:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Eighth Line in regards to a single motor vehicle collision. Initial investigation revealed that a red min-van was travelling southbound on Bloomfield Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign.

The van continued through the intersection, went air born and struck a guard rail and tree.

All three occupants, a mother and her two daughters (ages 4 and 8), were transported by ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment. The mother and eight-year-old were treated and released.

The four-year-old little girl was air lifted to the London Health Sciences Centre where she remains in critical, but stable condition.

This collision remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Unit.
