A 4-year-old girl was airlifted to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries following a single motor vehicle collision this morning.
Chatham-Kent Police say emergency crews responded to the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Eighth Line just before 9AM this morning in regards to this collision.
Police say their initial investigation shows that a red mini-van was travelling southbound on Bloomfield Road when it ran through a stop sign, went airborne and struck a guard rail and a tree.
A woman and two young girls (ages 4 and 8 ) were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment, but the 4-year-old has since been flown to London.
Officers say the intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Constable Mike Pearce at 519-355-1092.
