Roxxy’s Tap and Grill Sportsbar on James Street in downtown Wallaceburg is set to re-open to the public on Wednesday, June 27 after being shut down for renovations.

The business is now under the ownership of Richard Dunn, who says he has spruced up the interior of the place but still kept the casual, friendly atmosphere.

“The bar was moved over a little bit, all of the walls, lighting, flooring, bathrooms have been redone and repainted,” said Dunn.

But most of the work was done to the place where the food is prepared.

“The kitchen was gutted, we redid it top to bottom, new walk-in freezers, coolers,” said Dunn.

The restaurant is set to open on Wednesday, but they’re opening on a Wednesday for a reason.

“We’re trying to start a little soft,” said Dunn, “We have some new employees, so we want to get everyone used to where everything is and get the place running smoothly before the weekend.”

And when they do open, Dunn says they will be offering all of the old favourites on the menu, but they will be introducing some new items as well.
