It’s becoming a common theme for Chatham-Kent, as the community continues their success and superiority with online voting contests.
Chatham was announced as the winner of the 2012 President’s Choice BBQ Town contest earlier this morning.
Mayor Randy Hope said it’s another great win for C-K.
“People do believe in ourselves,” Hope said. “It’s great that we are winning these contests. We’re out there pulling ourselves, getting Chatham-Kent recognized. With the PC BBQ, it’s one more way for us to get the message out about what Chatham-Kent has to offer. It’s going to be a great advertisement us, but at the same time, bring people into our community. If we have a concert going on and everything else, it’s going to be great for us.”
President’s Choice announced Chatham’s win on their Facebook Page this morning as well.
“We’ll host a giant BBQ with Bob Blumer and Chef Tom, attempt to break a world record, watch Hedley perform and donate $25,000 to nutrition programs in your community,” they stated. “We can’t wait!”
Secondary winners that will be included on the PC BBQ Town tour are Fredericton, New Brunswick; Hampton, New Brunswick; Mississauga, Ontario; Orangeville, Ontario; St. Thomas, Ontario; Strathmore, Alberta; Sturgeon Falls, Ontario; Sudbury, Ontario; and Truro, Nova Scotia.
Chatham-Kent is familiar with winning online contests, with recent victories with the TSN/Kraft Celebration Tour and Monopoly Canada.
The PC BBQ Twon tour schedule set to be released on June 21.
