This is the 25th Anniversary for the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Through the years, the Chatham-Kent Police have been raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ontario.

The money raised has allowed more people with mental disabilities to participate.

There is the chance for year round participation as the athletes have the chance to qualify for Regional, Provincial, National, and International Competitions. T

his year the Torch Runners across the Province will be bringing the Torch to the Final Leg into the Provincial Spring Games Opening Ceremonies in Kingston on May 31st.

The Chatham-Kent leg will include runners from Probation and Parole, Chatham Jail, Chatham-Kent OPP and the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

They are also honoured to have some Olympians joining us.

The run starts at 9:00 a.m. today

The run goes from the Dresden Community Church down Baseline Road to the CKPS Wallaceburg Office.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service thought it would be appropriate to run into Wallaceburg this year in memory of Chip Gordon.

Chip was a great supporter of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
