A visual of what the finished product will look like.

One of Victor Boutin’s big plans is set to give downtown Chatham a huge face lift.

Plans are going full force for The Boardwalk, a multi-level apartment complex, set to be constructed on King Street beside Coffee Culture, and across the street from the Downtown Chatham Centre.

Duane Addy, spokesperson for The Boardwalk, says Everlast Group is excited to help bring people to C-K.

“I think it’s very important to have people in downtown Chatham,” Addy said. “We have been working for some time to attract people to the downtown. We have beautiful parks, wonderful restaurants. So we’re trying to bring down to see all that to make the downtown more vibrant.”

The different featured rooms in the facility will be named after various communities in Chatham-Kent, including The Wallaceburg, The Blenheim, The Dresden, The Tilbury, The Ridgetown and The Merlin.

“The type of units we have are more the upscale type design that they focus on,” he said. “From 1,000 square feet up to 2,200 square feet, from single bachelor to three bedroom.”

More information on the project can be found on their website: http://www.boardwalkonthames.com/

That is your opinion, and it’s fair. However, there are others that would prefer a luxury condo, without the need to care over a lawn and gardens. Some people enjoy condo living and I’m one of them. If I was single again, I’d be interested in these units. People have different tastes and preferences. It depends on many factors.

There is supposedly going to be 2 levels of underground parking for this place…good luck with that!!! Hope they take into consideration the flooding that occurs in this area!!!!!

Wow, it was announced quite a while ago that it would actually be above ground parking. Sheesh.

The building contains all of the parking required for the building. The parking is on ground level so flooding will not be a risk. This is one of the reasions it took as long as it did to finalize the plans. As for prices does anyone have any information as to the cost of units in the building? I have heard numbers but no real numbers. I like the new look of the building I think the less modern design will compliment the down town area. My one question is what the building will be like on the river side

Go to the old YMCA, the open houses are from 11-3 a.m daily. There you will receive a full detailed description of what is happening with the plans. Quit your complaining, someone is willing to put some time and money into providing some serious job opportunities downtown. There are many buyers from out toronto way who have already confirmed their purchases for some of the condos already.
