Punches thrown, shots fired in Tupperville

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two men in connection with a neighbour dispute last night in Chatham Township.

At about 6:45 p.m. police responded to a residence on John Park Line in Tupperville regarding a neighbour dispute.

A verbal argument began between the two men when the accused approached the victim regarding his dogs running loose in the area.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation when the accused punched the victim in the face and shoved a female who was also present.

The victim sustained a cut to his face but did not require medical attention.

The victim proceeded to grab his 12-gauge shotgun and fired off one shot into the air.

Following a thorough investigation, a 23-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with weapons dangerous and his firearms were seized for public safety.

Both men have been released pending future court dates.
