The committee for the 4th annual Chatham Sunrise Rotary Ribfest announced their headline acts for the upcoming July 6,7 and 8 event.

Headlining the Friday night portion of the event will be classic rock group – Trooper.

And on the Saturday of the event, country star Jason McCoy will wrap up the festivities.

A host of local acts will fill out the schedule as well, as the band shell will be hopping at Tecumseh Park.

“We’re all ready to go,” said organizer Sheila Bateman. “People better be marking it down, because it’s coming up really quick.”

Bateman said the event will feature some new aspects as well.

“We do have a midway,” Bateman said. “It will be full of rides for the younger teens, and our kids entertainment is by TJ Stables this year. It will be a whole different presentation from other years.”

The Chatham Boxcars are a talented folk music band from Chatham-Kent that have performed at several venues throughout Chatham-Kent including last years Tonyfest. Our band consists of 3 members who sing and play guitar, harmonica and banjo. Our jendre is popular folk music of the 1960′s. Currently we have several videos on Utube that can be viewed.

We would like to volunteer to play at this years RibFest. Our music is well recieved no matter where we go and really caters to the babyboomers who experienced the folk music revival of the 60′s. We perform tracks from such reknown artists as Bob Seeger, Peter, Paul and Mary, the Seekers, the Bells, Bob Dylan, the Mamas and the Papas and Joni Michell. Our music is easy listening, family oriented and is guranteed to get the crowds feet stomping and hands clapping.
