People will be gathering at Bob ‘N Buoys in Mitchell’s Bay this Saturday (Feb. 25) for their annual chili cook-off.
Jill Roe, owner of the restaurant, says supporting the food bank is essential especially this year.
“We’ve done it for the past 12 years probably,” Roe said. “I just think the food bank needs a lot more this year compared to previous years.”
Roe added that anyone that wants to enter a chili in the contest have to enter by 1 p.m., with a price tag of $5 per entry.
“People have to being their own crock pot and ladel,” she said. “After the judging, the rest of the chili will be sold for one dollar a bowl, with all those proceeds going to Outreach as well.”
Let Roe and her crew know if you want to attend, by visiting their Facebook group for the event.
You can head to the event which is located at 18 Main Street, in Mitchells Bay.
