In 2011, The Chatham-Kent Police Service has arrested 1,986 people to date. To provide an interesting astrological perspective, an algorithm was applied to all the arrestee’s dates of birth. Note: The Chatham-Kent Police Service does not ask an arrested person for their Zodiac sign – a simple calculation was used to create this list.

Just Odd
Police were called to Value Village when someone accidentally donated the cremated remains of a loved one. They were safely returned to a family member.
A man was charged by police when he was found driving along the road while dragging a snowmobile behind his vehicle without a trailer…in May.
Calls involving naked/nude people: 24
Calls involving urine/urinating: 40 (most often in public view)
Calls involving feces: 22 (most often dogs/cats going on neighbour’s property although a few involved people throwing feces).
Animals
In 2011 the following animals have been reported standing/running loose on roadways interfering with the normal flow of traffic: geese, deer, raccoons, horses, cows, foxes, and one very slow-moving snapping turtle.
Police have also been called for several skunk calls including one with its head stuck in a mayonnaise jar. There were also several squirrel calls including a neighbour dispute that upon further investigation was determined to be the fault of a squirrel.
Neighbours and Grass: Sometimes a Contentious Issue
A man called police because his neighbour was using a different kind of grass seed than him and wanted the officer to make him dig it up.
A man called police because his neighbour cut a strip of grass that belongs to the Municipality. He believes that the Municipality should cut it and wanted police to tell his neighbour that.
A man called police because when his neighbour cuts the lawn, he infringes 5” into his lawn and cuts it shorter than he likes it.
