The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is hosting a prairie plug planting event for the Environmental Club from Chatham-Kent Secondary School.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Diversion Channel in Chatham, Ontario (located across from the Glasshouse Nursery) Thursday October 27th at 2:45pm.

The Conservation Authority will also be hosting a cold-frame tree seeding event with this group November 3rd at 2:30. The event will take place on school grounds.

Organizers said the Community Trees Initiative is a wonderful program that gets students involved in the greening process occurring throughout Chatham-Kent. The Community Trees Initiative compliments many aspects of the Ontario curriculum while helping students gain hands-on experience and develop stewardship ethics.
