Catholic Priest from Chatham faces sex assault charges

An 85-year-old Catholic Priest from Chatham has been charged in connection with a pair of alleged sex assaults from the late 1970s.

Father Linus Bastien faces two counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency.

Essex OPP officials stated that incidents date back to 1978, when Bastein was serving in Essex.

The two accusers were alter servers at the time. He will appear in Windsor Court on November 1st.
