First United Way Tennis Tournament Held Sunday

The first ever United Way tennis tournament was held at the Joe Carpenter courts on Sunday Sept. 25.

The girls’ doubles championship was won by Nicole Protopapas and Graciela Alaniz of CKSS. They defeated Laura Polowick and Whitney Martin of JMSS by an 8-2 score.

Ashley Herfst and Anique Daley (JMSS) defeated Julia Kocis and Jasmine Shadd (CKSS) to finish third.

The boys doubles championship was won by Rick An and Aiden Poole (CKSS) who defeated McGregor’s Brooks Shepley and Shawn Brown, 8-7.

Mihai Branzan and Ben Davies (CKSS) defeated Alex Nettleton and Brady McIntyre (JMSS) to finish third.
