Today (Wed. May 11) was a day of big announcements from the organizing committee of Chatham’s Sunrise Rotary Ribfest.

Mike Ferguson was on hand on behalf of the Ontario Provincial Government, who has donated $35,500 to Chatham Sunrise Rotary’s Ribfest! The funds have been allocated from the “Building A Better Ontario” program.

Furthermore, Caesars Windsor has generously jumped on board with tremendous support as this year’s Corporate Sponsor.

And April Wine will headline the entertainment bill for the third annual local event, rocking Tecumseh Park in Chatham on Saturday, July 9th.

This year’s RibFest will once again be held in Tecumseh Park on July 8th, 9th and 10th.

Mike Ferguson makes the announcement that the provincial government has donated $35,500 to Chatham Sunrise Rotary Ribfest through the "Building A Better Ontario" program.

With the bar being set from previous years, thanks to performances from the likes of David Wilcox and Kim Mitchell, the organizing committee all agree April Wine will be sure to entertain the masses!

Along with the headliners from Nova Scotia, live entertainment through the weekend will include That Whaling Band and Greatest Hits Live on Friday evening (July 8th), along with The Tom Lockwood Band opening for April Wine on Saturday evening.

With 21 Top 40 hits under their belt and the release of more than 20 albums, April Wine has earned a page in the Canadian music

history books. Add to their undeniable success, April Wine also brings a live performance reputation that still sees them drawing devoted crowds across Canada and around the world more than forty years after taking their first steps into the “rock” limelight

Rotary Ribfest’s are popular destinations throughout Ontario during the summer. These great summer family-picnic style events are filled with attractions for people of all ages. Kid’s games, festival foods, beverages, live music and, of course, ribs are the main attractions to Ribfest. These festivals, most popular in the GTA area, have grown into annually anticipated events by local communities.

Renée Tomsich, Communications & Public Relations Manager for Caesars Windsor announces that Ceasars has joined Chatham's RibFest as a Corporate Sponsor.

As the popularity increases with these festivals, more Ribfest’s have started developing in and around Central Ontario. Ribfest’s have also been a great fundraising tool for local Rotary Clubs that want to make a difference in their communities.

The Burlington Lakeshore Rotary Club (Canada’s Largest Ribfest) has raised 1.85 million dollars, in only 13 years of operation. They continue to lead the way in attendance, going green, and many other innovations. As one of Chatham Sunrise Rotary’s biggest mentors, Burlington Lakeshore has sculpted our event into a premiere event from year one. Join us in making this 2nd Rotary Sunrise Ribfest a main staple for Chatham-Kent, and signature event in southwestern Ontario.
