A Wallaceburg youth is cutting her hair, in order to raise funds for cancer research.

When Brooke Murphy last measured her hair it was 11 inches long.

She plans to cut it off and donate it to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Murphy said she decided to take part in this endeavour because of her friend, who’s mother died from the disease.

“So I thought it was a pretty good idea to cut my hair,” she said. “It means a lot… because I feel bad (for my friend) because she doesn’t have a mom. I want to help some people that need it, and especially people that needs some hair. It’s really important to me.”

To donate stop by 99.1 CKXS at 520 James St. in Wallaceburg or give her a call at 519-627-8837.
