Wallaceburg woman to stand trial in death of grandchildren

A Wallaceburg woman will stand trial on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, following the continuation of a preliminary hearing in Sarnia this week.
Jane LaMarsh was driving on the St. Clair Parkway on Dec. 3, 2009, when her vehicle entered the St. Clair River.
Her two grandchildren, Taiya and Tyler Talbot, aged 6 and 10, died as a result.
Her 12-year-old daughter escaped.
Reports say a trial date could be set on June 16.
Sarnia Police held a media conference On Feb. 12 2010 to confirm the arrest and charges filed against the 48-year-old Wallaceburg resident.
Sarnia Police officials said that LaMarsh was arrested at her Wallaceburg home mid-afternoon on Thursday, February 11, and charged with two counts of First Degree Murder in relation to the deaths of her grandchildren.
