Chatham Goodfellows

As the Chatham Goodfellow’s fifty-sixth anniversary campaign draws to a close, and the volunteers are finishing the joyous task of delivering toys and food, to ensure “No Child Without a Christmas”, Chatham Goodfellows would like to thank the corporate sponsors, private businesses large and small, service clubs, churches, all of the volunteers, and the citizens of Chatham-Kent who helped in making this labour of love for the less fortunate in our Community possible.

When the Chatham Goodfellows campaign began, the Board of Directors realized that this campaign was going to be difficult this year. In 2010 Chatham Goodfellows experienced the highest demand  in our 56 year history.  Chatham Goodfellows delivered toys to over 1200 children and1620 families in Chatham, the Townships of Dover, Chatham, Harwich, and Raleigh.  In partnership with the Merlin Legion, over 40 families in the Merlin area received food baskets and toys.

The caring and generosity of citizens of Chatham-Kent humble the Goodfellow Board of Directors.  The porch light and street sales campaigns raised $70,500.00 which was an increase of over $1,000.00 from 2009.

The Goodfellows Board of Directors is indebted to all media people in Chatham-Kent who provide invaluable coverage of Goodfellow events throughout the year.  The Board of Directors wishes to extend a special thank you to Chatham This Week, Chatham Daily News who published 20,000 Goodfellows newspaper each year without charge, CFCO/CKSY/THE ROCK for their continuous “on air” support, to ensure that “No Child is Without a Christmas”. THANK YOU.

To everyone in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent have a safe and Merry Christmas and New Years.

The Board of Directors
