The Chatham-Kent Etsy Street Team is proud to sponsor “At Evening at the Mansion” to benefit the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre. The luxurious shopping event takes place on Wednesday 1st December from 6.00pm to 9.00pm in the opulent setting of The Mansion on Victoria, 158 Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre exists to support women and children who are facing violence. It provides shelter, advocacy, counseling and public education in a non-judgmental and empowering fashion which includes reaching out to the whole family. They are a resource to women with any question at any time of the day or night.

Built in 1875 for the then Lord Mayor of Chatham, The Mansion on Victoria has been restored to its original grandeur and is now an elegant six-bedroom bed-and-breakfast furnished with period antiques.

The CK Etsy Street Team was formed in 2009 to promote local artisans and crafters who sell their hand-crafted items online and at “trunk sales” throughout the municipality. All team members must be residents or have strong ties to Chatham-Kent. The Team’s guiding principle is “Buy Local, Buy Handmade”. Their focus is on supporting each other as individual small business owners and on promoting the Team throughout Chatham-Kent.

“An Evening at the Mansion” will showcase the talents of over a dozen of theses artisans presenting exceptional handcrafted wares suitable for the holiday season. The evening will include live entertainment, delicious hors d’oeuvres with hot and cold refreshments. There will also be door prizes valued at over $200.00.

Co-chairs of the CK Etsy Team Brenda Braun and Christy DeKoning together with team administrator Ann Kirkham are the event coordinators.

These ladies can plan, and they are wonderful artisans, so it is going to be a totally wonderful evening – get all your Christmas shopping done while enjoying live music and some great nibbles. And you can do all this while supporting the C-K Womens’ Centre – a wonderful cause !

Can you just turn up at the door or do you have to buy tickets in advance? How much are they?

Tickets will be available at the door as well. The tickets are $10 each, the net proceeds of which go directly to the Chatham-Kent Womens Centre.

We are encouraging advance ticket purchasing because it helps us to let the caterer and the vendors who are bringing food items (Chatham Coffeebean Roastery and Happy Endings Cupcakes!) to know how many to expect.

I will be updating our Vendor List at http://cketsyteam.com later today if anyone wants a preview or you can also find that information on our Facebook event page:

      http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159440934081227

As of right now you can purchase tickets from any of the participating vendors, The Mansion on Victoria (Chatham), The Paper Pickle (Chatham), Mocha Violet (Ridgetown), Choices4Wellness (Chatham) and online at cketsyteam.com

      hope to see you there!

I went into Mocha Violet to get my tickets today – the newest store in Ridgetown. What a GREAT place. The owner is the daughter of Antiquated Joys owner – she has created the same elegant style, but has added seating so visitors can enjoy specialty teas and coffees. Worth a visit to Ridgetown to see it – and to get your Mansion tickets.

Just a reminder that although our tickets are going quickly, you will be able to pay at the door as well.

$10 per person, net proceeds to go to the C-K Womens’ Centre!

There will only be a limited number of tickets available at the door. To avoid disappointment, purchase your tickets online! Just visit http://cketsyteam.com and click the “buy now” button. You will be directed to PayPal, a secure site to use your Credit or Debit card. When your transaction is completed, simply print the confirmation message or email you receive and bring it with you to the door. Have several people in your party meeting you there? Send them the email to print and they can bring it with them. Your confirmation code and number of tickets purchased will be on our guest list, so each guest can check in separately if needed (no more “who has the tickets?”)

I can’t wait. This will be a shopping extravaganza like non other in the Chatham-Kent area. Were else can you shop hand made from local Artist and Artisans, Enjoy live entertainment, Sample some tasty hors-d’oeuvres, support a wonderfull cause, “The Womens Shelter” from the net proceeds, experience one of Chatham-Kents historical homes, and possibly win a door prize?

I think extravaganza is an understatement!

    Hope to see you there!
