Civic Holiday Closings

Municipal offices and most services will be CLOSED Monday August 2, 2010 in recognition of the Civic Holiday, with the following exceptions:

OPERATIONAL SERVICES ON THE CIVIC HOLIDAY

• Free bus service on Seasonal Interurban Transit Route S1 serving Chatham, Erieau and Mitchell Bay with stops in Grande Point, Pain Court, Charing Cross and Blenheim – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

• All pools, both indoor and outdoor, and summer camps are open Monday, August 1, and will be running their regular schedules.

• Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Milner House and Ridge House Museum will be open 1 – 5 p.m.

• Cemetery staff will be on call to handle cemetery business for funeral home operations

• The Chatham-Kent Visitor Information Centre and RM Classic Car Exhibit are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Thames Campus Arena – rentals and normal programs

• Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day every day and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only

CLOSED ON THE CIVIC HOLIDAY

• All Community Municipal Centres, Information Desks and Libraries – Blenheim, Chatham including Service Ontario, Dresden, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Bothwell, Merlin, Highgate, Thamesville and Wheatley)

• Park Avenue Business Centre – offices of Recreation Programs; Municipal Properties; Parks, Cemeteries and Horticulture; Fleet administration and Public Works administration

• All Public Works garages

• Building, Enforcement and Licensing Services

• Chatham Cultural Centre Box Office and Administrative Offices

• Memorial and Erickson Arenas

• Chatham-Kent Centre for Community Services – offices of Ontario Works/Social Services; Social Housing, Children’s Services and Public Health (Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207),

• Clinic Services – Public Health

• Chatham-Kent Utility Services and Chatham-Kent Hydro

• Child Care Learning Centres – (Wallaceburg and May Court)

• CK Transit services other than Seasonal Interurban Transit Route S1

• Garbage and recycling collection services are suspended for the Civic Holiday. Collection will be delayed one day. Refer to your 2010/2011 Residential Recycling and Waste Collection Calendar for further details.

• Provincial Offences Court

• Public Utilities Commission office

• Riverview Gardens seniors home – administrative offices will be closed but facilities are operational
