Erieau arts event taking place on July 31

The first Art on the Boulevard event in Erieau is quickly approaching

The free event is set for July 31 and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will run rain or shine, but will be indoors at the new Erieau Firehall (Community Room), Erieau Yacht Club and Anglican Church if inclement weather comes up.

Organizers said more than 40 artists from across Ontario and Michigan will be attending the event

“Each artist will display their work and have it all available for sale, most artists accept only cash or cheque,” organizers said. “Many different mediums including handcrafted jewelry, watercolour paintings, print making, hair accessories, fish art, silk, acrylic on canvas, sketching, clay, oil paintings, photography, art cards, story books, recipe books, children’s illustrated story books, children’s art, pottery, woodworking and more” will be on dispaly.

Local musicians will be performing in the Boulevard throughout the day and homemade baked goods and refreshments will be for sale along the Boulevard, for cash only.

A feature of the event – the Home and Cottage Tour – will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will also run rain or shine.

Seven interesting and unique cottages and homes will be included throughout the village of Erieau (on Lake Erie, on Rondeau Bay, on the Marina etc.) on the tour.

Tickets are for sale at DPM in Blenheim, Purple Pansy in Chatham and the Gentry Manor in Chatham

Tickets for the Home and Cottage Tour can also be purchased at the Information Booth located in the Memorial Gardens in the Boulevard on the day of the event until 1 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for the Home and Cottage Tour and maps are available at the start of the tour at the information table at the Memorial Garden area (across from OJ and Molly’s Restaurant)

Organizers said Municipal busing will also be available for people that don’t have a ride.

Bus leaves Chatham at 10:00 am and arrives at Erieau at 10:40
