Theft of items valued at $1,900 in Blenheim; other Chatham-Kent police news

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Tuesday night and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, unknown suspects entered Campbell Chatham-Kent Realty on Chatham Street North in Blenheim and stole a computer and two cameras.

The approximate value of the theft is $1900.

Chatham man charged with sexual assault

On Monday, a woman attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to report a sexual assault by her biological father.

Police said the incidents took place recently, but no further information will be provided to protect the identity of the victim.

On Tuesday, the 50-year-old Chatham man turned himself in to police headquarters.

He has been arrested and charged with three counts of sexual assault and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Car tires stolen in Chatham

Sometime overnight on Monday, unknown suspects attended Dover Auto Wreckers on Pioneer Line in Chatham, jacked up a Chevy Cavalier, and stole four tires, the rear bumper, and the tail light assemblies.

The estimated value of the theft is $1,500.

Security cameras stolen in Chatham

Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects attended Crazy Cars on Merritt Avenue in Chatham and stole two security cameras from the exterior of the building.

It appears that the suspects first smashed out the nearby lights with the hopes of not being caught on video by the very cameras that were stolen.

Yesterday afternoon, police attended the Better Bodies Tanning Salon on Richmond Street in Chatham as someone stole a security camera from outside the store.

Both incidents are currently under investigation.
