baseball-gloveThe Port Lambton Pirates lost a heart breaker on Saturday morning (Sept. 5) against league rival Wyoming, 2-1.

Hanging on to a slim 1-0 lead going into the bottom half of the 7th inning, Wyoming put a few base runners on, tied the game, and set the stage for “suicide squeeze” play that pushed the winning run across the plate.

On Saturday afternoon, the Pirates played Mitchell and lost a back-and-forth contest 10-9, ending the season for the Pirates.

Port Lambton was playing in the Ontario Baseball Association Sr. ‘D’ provincial championships in London.

The Maple City Brewers also lost on Saturday to Woodslee 12-3, ending their season as well.

Watch for more details on the CKDP.
