The Thames St. Clair Cultural Action Team is looking for artists, artisans, entrepreneurs and others involved in the cultural sector for a new online directory that is being established.

The directory is an initiative of the regional Cultural Action Teams (CATs) which were established as a result of Chatham-Kent’s 2007 Cultural Mapping Project.

Tamara McAllister, the Thames St. Clair CAT Chair, said the goal of this grassroots initiative is to connect, inventory, organize, and communicate all things cultural throughout Chatham-Kent.

While she said that a large institutional inventory has been established, there is a need now to include individual crafters, artisans, musicians, actors, writers and historians, as well as other cultural or artistic organizations in the community.

“We want to ensure that our inventory and this website will be as complete as possible,” said McAllister. “Residents with entrepreneurial artisan businesses, organizations and talents – both large and small – that we have no official knowledge of are the ones that we’re looking for now.”

All we need is your name, business / organizational name (if applicable), email address, phone number and mailing address (complete with postal code) and someone will contact you with more detail.

All information collected will be protected under privacy laws, and those providing the information will be regularly updated on the website development.

Anyone interested in receiving more information or in providing their contact information can contact Patricia Peters at patriciap@chatham-kent.ca or call 519.354.8346 x43.
